LIFE BEYOND SLEEP
Neurobiology is a field that I have personally chosen for the sole purpose of understanding the brain’s operations that influence dreams, vision and memory. During my studies I have come to the fork in the road, Sigmund Freud or James Hillman; from my personal experience I believe that the James Hillman approach is more holistic and will advance society through introducing different possibilities within reality. The literature book that influenced me toward this insight is titled, “The Dream And The Underworld” by James Hillman.
The studying of dreams is an obstacle with many pathways, which could lead to a labyrinth of approaches. Within the research field of dreams there have been iconic “scholars” like Sigmund Freud, James Hillman and even Carl Jung at some occasions, but nevertheless each approach to studying the aspects of dreams lead to different approaches and information. The vital part to understand about this labyrinth of approaches, once a path is taken the original route back to the beginning becomes blurred due to previous convictions in personal beliefs. This aspect can be seen between Sigmund Freud and James Hillman, where Sigmund Freud dedicated his studying of dreams to their interpretation within the Living World, rather James Hillman studies focused on how to navigate within the Dream State.
